With Thanksgiving just around the corner, it’s time to start planning for the day. Ensure the day goes smoothly by including fun games that all the family can play. From turkey bowling to Thanksgiving Bingo, these 5 entertaining activities will surely keep everyone engaged.
1. Thanksgiving Fact or Fiction
Test guests knowledge on Thanksgiving by presenting them with a mix of both facts and fictions. Give everyone a card and a pencil.Read a statement from the card.Mark it as “Fact” if you think it’s true or “Fiction” if you think it’s false. If you want to make it harder, set a timer for 2 minutes.After everyone has marked their answers, go through the statements and say if they are fact or fiction. You get 1 point for each correct answer. The person or team with the most points wins.If there is a tie, ask another Thanksgiving question and the first person or team to get it right wins.
2. Turkey Bowling
Turkey bowling is an easy and fun game to play and only requires a few materials that you may already have at home, such as empty cans, paint, and googly eyes. Simply paint the cans in fall colors to resemble turkeys, and use one can with additional details to make a turkey face. Then, set the cans up like bowling pins and knock them down with a ball or rolled-up sock. It’s a great way to keep kids entertained while dinner is cooking and it won’t cost you a dime. So, try out turkey bowling this Thanksgiving and have a blast!
3. Thanksgiving Bingo
Keep guests of all ages busy with a fun game of Thanksgiving themed bingo. Each player will need a card and something to mark their spaces with, like buttons or candies. The host will call out an item, like “pumpkin” or “turkey.” Look for the item on your card and mark it if you see it.The first player to get a row, column, or diagonal marked shouts “Bingo!” and wins. If you want, the winner can also try to mark every space on their card for a bigger challenge. For prizes, you can give out small Thanksgiving stickers, treats, or little gifts.
4. Pin the Feathers on the Turkey
To play the game, you just need to print out an image of a turkey and feather pieces which you can cut out. Then, tape the turkey on the wall. Next, have the first player stand in front of the turkey with their eyes covered. Give them a feather to hold and spin them around a few times. They have to try and put the feather in the right spots without being able to see.Whoever gets their feather closest to the right spots wins.
5. Poke a Feather Game
This is a really fum game to play after dinner. Use paper cups and put candy inside and then cover with tissue paper.
Supplies
Paper cups (in fall colors)
Tissue paper (same colors as cups)
Rubber bands or tape
Small treats or candies
Cardboard or poster board
Glue or strong tape
Put a treat in each cup. Put tissue paper over the cups and secure it with a rubber band or tape.
Make sure the tissue paper is tight but easy to poke through. Stick the cups to the cardboard or poster board in a feather pattern, like a turkey’s tail. You can also arrange them randomly. Guests take turns poking through the tissue paper with their finger to find their surprise.
