DIY Mermaid Cupcake
Are you hosting an under the sea themed party? You’ll be considering ocean themed decorations such as seaweed and shells. Then there’s the treats to think about – there are a plethora of ideas when it comes to making sweet treats for this particular theme. Make your own magical mermaid tail cupcakes for a birthday or baby shower. You’ll need a Silicone Mold Mermaid Tail as well as Disposable Piping Bags and Edible Glue to make these fantastical treats. There are so many varieties on this simple design and below I will show you some of my favorites.
Buy Mermaid Sprinkles
This is the recipe at is most simple and the effect is stunning. The silicon mold really makes a convincing mermaid tail and is a necessity for any mermaid inspired creation.
Pink & Blue
Its amazing how much the glitter on the tail really adds to this very simple design.
Its amazing the effect that can be given when you play with coloring on the tail
Star of the Show
These are almost too gorgeous to eat – almost…
These were my niece’s favorites and are a rare departure from the other designs that are focused on the mermaid tail. Still, I think these aquatic themed designs would go with any mermaid themed party.
Tear-apart Cupcake Cake
I guess this only really works if your little one is turning five, however I if you play around with the tail and colors you can make this work for other numbers as well. I just thought the number five was the cutest.
This may seem complicated at first, but if you break down the shape into the individual cupcakes it’s not really a massive task. A good tip would be to use light cupcakes for the face instead of using an entire cake – just to cut down on the work needed for this.
